“A
Janitorial Legacy began in Louisville, Kentucky over 30 Years
ago.”
It all began in 1968 when Tommie Burns, Jr., owner and founder
accepted his first part-time cleaning job at Bacon’s
(currently Dillard’s) Department Store to strip and
recoat the tile floor. One week later, he was given the keys
to the store. One year later, he had the janitorial job to
clean all 4 department stores in Louisville, Kentucky. In
1988, Burns Janitor Service started with the construction
clean up for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, the first assembly
plant being built in Georgetown, Kentucky. Today Burns remains
Toyota’s longest minority janitorial vendor. In 1995,
Burns Janitor Service was the 12th largest minority business
in America and had over 1,000 employees. We remain a leading
force in the industry because we’re a janitorial service
that lives out:
